(HockeyStL) -- The St. Louis Blues continued their dominance over Eastern Conference teams with a 4-1 win over the New York Rangers on Thursday night.
Two first period goals by Patrik Berglund and David Perron, a third period goal by Steen and an empty-netter from Jason Arnott were more than enough to push the Blues to 7-0-1 against Eastern Conference foes this season. The success against the East is not something new this season as the Blues are 18-4-4 dating back to last season.
Thursday’s victory marked only the fortieth time that the Blues have beaten the Rangers in 131 games despite having won nine of the last 13 match-ups dating back to 2000.
It was also only the 13th time the Blues scored three or more goals in a game this season. The Blues are 13-0-0 when scoring at least three goals.
