(HockeyStL) -- It didn’t take long for Jake Allen to see his first NHL action this season after being called up when Jaroslav Halak was placed on the injured reserve February 3.

Allen entered the game against the Predators after Brian Elliott allowed four goals on eleven shots in 29 minutes of action.

It also didn’t take long for Allen to give up his first NHL goal.

On the next play, Colin Wilson split Wade Redden and Alex Pietrangelo for a backhand shot that glanced off the post and then the skate of Gabriel Bourque for the Predators fifth goal.

The Blues didn’t allow another shot for the final nine minutes and 51 seconds of the second period.  Nearly 16 minutes after the goal was scored, Allen officially made his first NHL save.

Allen stopped six shots on eight attempts in relief.
