CLEVELAND (AP) — Lonnie Chisenhall hit his first career grand slam, Scott Kazmir pitched into the seventh inning and the Cleveland Indians beat the visiting Kansas City Royals 5-3 last night. Chisenhall's homer in the sixth broke open a 1-0 game and hit off the facing of the second deck in right field, landing in Kansas City's bullpen.

(AP) — Soony Saad scored twice, his first goals in almost two years, and Sporting Kansas City moved into first place in the Eastern Conference with a 3-nil victory over short-handed Toronto FC Saturday night. Claudio Bieler also scored for Sporting, which ran its unbeaten streak to five. Jimmy Nielsen recorded his eighth shutout of the MLS season.
NEWTON, Iowa (AP) — Timothy Peters claimed the lead after a restart on lap 195 to win the NASCAR Trucks Series race at Iowa Speedway Saturday night. The win was Peters' first of the 2013 Trucks season and the sixth of his career. He also became first Trucks driver to win twice at the Newton, Iowa track, edging out 17-year-old Erik Jones by .225 seconds.
