(FootballStL) – The St. Louis Rams signed tight end Jared Cook in the offseason hoping he’d help an offense that has not seen a player top 700 receiving yards in the Sam Bradford era.
And if all the reports coming out of Rams training camp are true, Cook’s going to do just that.
But a statement made Friday by national columnist and TheMMQB.com editor Peter King was Cook’s strongest endorsement yet.
“I think the single-best player we saw on our tour (of NFL training camps) was St. Louis tight end Jared Cook,” King wrote.
King said Cook’s catch radius is remarkable and wonders how the 6-foot-5, 250-pound tight end has not broken out yet.
“How he caught only 44 balls last year in Tennessee I’ll never know,” he said.
It’s that kind of sentiments coming from the football pundits that has to have Bradford giddy about the upcoming season’s possibilities.
