(FootballStL) - Jeff Fisher spent 17 years coaching the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans franchise. On Sunday, he'll coach against them for the first time. Fisher's been in St. Louis two seasons now, and that's been long enough for most of his former Tennessee roster to have turned over.
“There are 16 players on the roster that were there when I was there," said Fisher. "There are just a few coaches on the staff. Front office is turned over. To me, this is just another opponent. Now yes, I have great memories there and owe the organization an awful lot."
Fisher took the 2011 season off after leaving the Titans. At the time of his departure, he had been the longest serving coach with one team in the NFL.
“Well, I never came to work wondering what I was going to be doing next," Fisher said. "So, it just all came together one day and I moved on, took some time off. It was a long time there. We had a lot of fond memories, developed relationships with a lot of former players. But as far as I’m concerned, I’ve moved on. They’re just another challenge for us."
