Chiefs fans break 12th Man's record for loudest crowd roar

Kansas City Chiefs fans on Sunday broke the 12th Man's record for the loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium.

The Kansas City Chiefs said the new record is 137.5 dbA. Seattle's record set at Centurylink Field by "Volume 12 - The Seahawks 12th Man" on Sept. 15 was 136.6 dbA.

Chiefs fans broke the record in the third quarter during their game with the Oakland Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Seahawks Tweeted their congratulations.



The Volume 12 group had sought to break the the then-previous Guinness World Record of 131.7 decibels set during a soccer match in Istanbul, Turkey in 2011.
