ST. LOUIS (FootballStL) -- After making a 53-yard field goal to tie the game and a 54-yard to beat the 49ers on Sunday, Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Zuerlein missed a 58-yard field goal in the second quarter of the 16-13 overtime victory, but rebounded to make the two that mattered most in the game.

“It’s pretty impressive,” Jeff Fisher said following the win.  “It’s good to see him bounce back after the miss and he did.  I had complete confidence him.”

Sam Bradford said it is routine for Zuerlein to make long range field goals and had all the confidence that the rookie kicker would pull through in the clutch.

The two 50-plus yard field goals on Sunday left Zuerlein just one shy of tying the NFL single season record of eight.
