(FootballSTL) – St. Louis Rams defensive end Robert Quinn was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in the team’s 27-24 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
The third-year pro sacked Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer three times, forced two fumbles and had a tackle for loss.
Quinn’s second forced fumble in the fourth quarter was recovered by the Rams at the Cardinals 22-yard-line, setting the team up for a game-tying field goal.
“I like to credit myself as a pretty fast end, so I like the speed rush of course, as I’m sure you all can tell. I’ve been working,” Quinn said after the game. “My pass rush moves, I’m happy I got three (sacks) today. We’ll see how the rest of the season goes.”
Quinn had 10.5 sacks last season and would appear to have the potential to get quite a few more than that in his third NFL season.
