Since the Rams moved to St. Louis in 1995 there have been 6 different opponents in the NFC West. I would contend that of any of those teams involved (49ers, Cardinals, Seahawks, Falcons, Panthers, Saints) the rivalry between the Rams and Saints during the 1999-2002 era was hotter than any other rivalry during the Rams tenure in St. Louis. Those games featured two teams who truly disliked each other and played the game with extremely high emotion in games that meant everything to those respective teams. Unfortunately the rivalry was discontinued due to realignment and this weekend will be a shell of what this rivalry once was. This season it is a matchup of two teams at opposite ends of the NFL spectrum. The Saints are focused on possibly winning a Super Bowl. The Rams are focused on getting two wins this season.
