CHICAGO (FootballStL) -- Rams rookie kicker Greg Zuerlein kicked his first 50-plus yard field goal in a 23-6 loss to the Bears on Sunday.
Zuerlein nailed a 56-yard field goal late in the first half to put the Rams only down 10-3. It was also the second longest field goal in franchise history. Jeff Wilkins kicked a 57-yard field goal in 1998.
It was a somewhat gutsy call for Fisher to put the field goal unit out late in the second quarter. If the rookie had missed, the Bears would have had 22 seconds and decent field position to get a quick score.
