LONDON (FootballStL) -- That was ugly.  It all started right for the Rams following a touchdown on the first possession of the game, but then Tom Brady and the Patriots became, well, Tom Brady and the Patriots.

The team was plagued by a bunch of boneheaded plays (see Bradley Fletcher and his multiple pass interferences) and lack of effort (see Brian Quick and his lack of trying on an interception).

The fans in London were witnesses to what happens when a premier NFL team meets an inexperienced squad.

How bad was it?  Well, the Patriots sat Brady for almost the entire fourth quarter after carving up the Rams defense for 304 yards and four touchdowns.  The only time the Rams protected Sam Bradford was when the team sat him midway through the fourth quarter and put backup quarterback Kellen Clemens in the fire.

The disappointment with the Rams performance in London runs deeper considering the team led 7-0 after an incredible 50-yard touchdown pass thrown by Bradford to rookie wide receiver Chris Givens.  That’s right, the Rams allowed 45 unanswered points.

The Rams could have scored more points, but a botched snap took away a possible 54-yard field goal and a late interception was thrown by Clemens late in the game at the goal line.

The lack of a close game may have hurt the NFL in London since the fans were not treated to a nail-biter, but at least the Rams won’t have to make another trip there for a long time.
