(FootballSTL) -- The steaming summer heat usually associated with NFL training camps has been replaced by mild temperatures. Head Coach Jeff Fisher had these observations at the end of Saturday afternoon’s workout.
Fisher said the crowd size at training camp so far has been encouraging for players and coaches.
“I’ve been told its one of the best in years which is great. We got great weather and our baseball team is on the road,” said Fisher, “So it’s a great opportunity for people to come out and see us.
Fisher also commented on how excited Rams fans are for the season to begin.
“Yeah, that what we’ve been hearing and it’s great. They were here early and we’re encouraging them to come back. They got to see some big plays today,” Fisher said.
Fisher focused on the increasingly better play seen from defensive tackle Michael Brockers.
“He really finished up strong toward the 2nd half of the season,” Fisher explained, “He’s really worked very hard. He’s changed his body and we think he can be a dominating player in the front.”
Brockers’ suffered a high ankle sprain last season, but Fisher said the injury hasn’t affected his play coming into this season.
“Brock was fine. He had some early off-season surgery. Just a routine clean up of the ankle,” said Fisher.
