PHOENIX (FootballStL) -- A first quarter interception by Rams cornerback Janoris Jenkins against the Cardinals was the first takeaway the defense has recorded since the two teams met on October 4.
Jenkins intercepted Cardinals quarterback Ryan Lindley for a 36-yard touchdown on the Cardinals’ second possession Sunday. The touchdown knotted the game at 7-7 at the time.
It was also the first interception recorded by the Rams defense since September 30 against the Seahawks.
It comes as little surprise that the Rams went 0-4-1 during the takeaway drought.
The Rams added another interception in the third quarter when Craig Dahl picked off Lindley and returned it inside the Cardinals red zone.
Jenkins would add another pick-six for the team’s third interception of the game. It gave the Rams a 28-17 lead in the third quarter.
James Laurinaitis also had an interception deep in Rams territory late in the fourth quarter.
