ST. LOUIS (FootballStL) – Former Rams tight end Mike Hoomanawanui has landed with a new team since being cut Sunday.

The New England Patriots have added Hoomanawanui to its 53-man roster and expect him to play this Sunday at Tennessee, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.  The addition will reunite the tight end with former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

Hoomanawanui, a fifth round pick of the Rams in 2010, will likely not see much playing time this season with the likes of Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, Jake Ballard, Daniel Fells and Visanthe Shianco, who is expected to be placed on the IR.

Last season, Hoomanawanui caught seven passes for 83 yards.
