(FootballSTL) -- For the first couple games this season it appeared as if the new look offensive line was finally going to protect Sam Bradford the way it always envisioned. They didn’t surrender a single sack to either the Cardinals or Falcons in opening weeks.
But in Week 3 to the Cowboys? Dallas not only sacks Bradford. They sack him six times, two of them by All Pro DeMarcus Ware. So what in the world were they doing to get to him?
“Quite a bit,” Bradford said. “It’s something we’re going to have to look at on tape but give credit to their pass rush. I thought they did a good job. They were running a lot of (stunts) with their down linemen. A couple blitzes got us too. Those guys played well.”
“It’s your job to protect the quarterback and you feel bad anytime you see him get hit,” offensive tackle Joe Barksdale said. “But we’ll learn from this and we’ll keep it going.”
Things will get no easier next week when former Mizzou Tiger and feared pass rusher Aldon Smith comes to town.
