(FootballStL) -- After releasing linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar for violating the PED policy before the season began, could the Rams bring the veteran linebacker back to St.Louis? There are various media reports that say the Rams could bring Dunbar back as early as this week.
Dunbar was suspended for 4 games before the the season kicked off. Dunbar’s presence would help a Rams defense that’s given up a combined 328 yards to running backs DeMarco Murray of Dallas and Frank Gore of San Francisco in consecutive games.
How would you grade Coach Fisher? Share your thoughts.
The 28-year-old Dunbar was the Rams emotional leader on defense last season, after picking up 4.5 sacks, 5 passes defended, 2 forced fumbles, and 5 passes defended. Coach Jeff Fisher did say that the Rams would have interest in Dunbar, at some point. However, Dunbar could also consider offers from other NFL teams as well.
The Rams defense has struggled under first year coordinator Tim Walton during the Rams 1-3 start. Veteran linebacker Will Witherspoon has replaced Dunbar in the starting lineup this season. Dunbar started all 16 games for the Rams last season, while finishing second on the team in tackles with 115. Dunbar is also scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in the off season.
