(FootballStL) -- St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola (elbow) has been itching to get back to playing on Sundays and has not ruled out on playing this Sunday against the Washington Redskins.
“I expect to play (this Sunday),” Amendola said. “I expected to play last Sunday too.”
Amendola also wore a new, smaller protective brace for his elbow on Wednesday.
“It looks like a Transformer,” Amendola said. “It’s bright, shiny and blue.”
Amendola admits he is taking the injury day-by-day and so is Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo.
“That’s a hard one for me to say,” Spagnuolo said. “We’ll see where he is at tomorrow.”
Rams quarterback Sam Bradford is also eager for Amendola’s return.
“He can do a lot of things in this offense,” Bradford said. “The sooner he gets back I think the better we’re going to be as an offense.”
The Rams offense is 29th in the NFL in points per game (12).
