(FootballSTL) -- The preseason is never quite a good indication of what you’ll see during the regular season. For example, rookie wide-out Tavon Austin did not touch the football last Thursday against the Cleveland Browns. The chances that Austin does not get his hands on the football during the regular season, are very slim.

After an early fumble by Isaiah Pead, the Rams offense was sparked by the combination of quarterback Sam Bradford and receiver Chris Givens. The Rams will see if that combo will be effective this Saturday when they host Green Bay.

Bradford played in the first 3 drives of the game, while completing 5 of 8 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown. Givens led Rams receivers with 3 catches for 82 yards and TD, for an average of 27.3 yards.

“The first preseason game is never an indication of where you are because there are so many different things going on out there, “ said Head Coach Jeff Fisher. “We’ll be able say that we saw good things out of some young players.” The Rams played 89 of the 90 players on their roster against Cleveland.
