LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) -- Attorneys for fired Texas Tech coach Mike Leach and the university have met in mediation but reached no outcome.
In a court filing late Friday, mediator Frank E. Murchison stated that mediation had not been completed and has been recessed "pending future scheduling."
State District Judge William Sowder set Friday as a deadline when he ordered the two sides into mediation Jan. 21.
The parties in the lawsuit Leach filed against the school will remain under the gag order Sowder put in place, the document states.
The university fired Leach on Dec. 30, two days after it suspended him amid allegations he mistreated a player with a concussion. His suit includes allegations of libel and slander and breach of contract. Leach has denied he mistreated the player.
