BOSTON (AP) — The second game of the Boston-Tampa Bay American League Divisional playoff is being played at Fenway Park. The Red Sox walked all over the Rays in the first game of the series yesterday, winning 12-2.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Baseball's winningest pitcher, Max Scherzer, did it again for the Tigers yesterday. The 21-game winner combined on a three-hitter with two relievers in a 3-2 win over the Athletics in Oakland. Game 2 in that best-of-five ALDS series is tonight in Oakland.

UNDATED (AP) — Alabama, the top team in the AP poll, is playing Georgia State in a home game this afternoon. The Crimson Tide have won their first four games of the season. In the only afternoon game featuring two ranked teams, No. 8 Florida State is home to No. 25 Maryland.

HOUSTON (AP) — It's a busy day of IndyCar racing in Houston as they have qualifying, racing and more qualifying. This is one of three doubleheader weekends on the IndyCar circuit this season and qualifying for today's first race was postponed yesterday, meaning there will be qualifying for that race today, the race itself and then qualifying for tomorrow's second half of the weekend doubleheader.

YEONGAM, South Korea (AP) — Sebastian Vettel continued his success this season in Formula One racing by winning another pole. He will start tomorrow's Korean Grand Prix (pree) from the front as he has now won the pole in three straight races. Vetttel is a three-time defending Formula One champions.
