MIAMI (AP) — LeBron James had 32 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds as the Miami Heat beat San Antonio 103-100 in overtime to force a Game 7 of the NBA Finals tomorrow night. James scored 20 points after the Spurs took a 71-58 lead with 3:50 left in the third quarter. Ray Alllen forced overtime by draining a three-pointer with 5.2 left in regulation.
ST. FRANCIS, Wis. (AP) — Monta (MAHN'-tay) Ellis will be an unrestricted free agent July 1 after informing the Milwaukee Bucks he is opting out of the final year of his contract. Ellis had an $11 million option for the upcoming season but has informed the Bucks that he would not be exercising it. Ellis was Milwaukee's leading scorer with 19.2 points per game last season, his only full season with the Bucks.
NEW YORK (AP) — Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira (teh-SHEHR'-uh) is back on the 15-day disabled list with an aching right wrist. He missed the first 53 games of the season because of an injury to the wrist and hit just .151 with three homers and 12 RBIs in 53 at-bats following his return. Yankees third baseman Kevin Youkilis (YOO'-kih-lihs) will miss at least 10-12 weeks after he has the back surgery tomorrow.
ATLANTA (AP) — The Braves have placed catcher and NL Rookie of the Year candidate Evan Gattis on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right oblique. Gattis earned a backup job in spring training as a non-roster player and is second on the Braves in homers with 14 and RBIs with 37. Infielder Tyler Pastornicky was recalled from Triple-A to fill the roster spot.
SANDY, Utah (AP) — The United States remains atop the six-team CONCACAF (KAHN'-kah-kaf) group in World Cup qualifying following a 1-0 win over Honduras in Utah. Jozy (JOH'-zee) Altidore tallied in the 73rd minute, giving him goals in his fourth straight international match.
