(BaseballStL) - Kolten Wong has been asked over and over again about when he was going to get his first career hit at Busch Stadium. On Sunday in the Cardinals 12-2 win over the Seattle Mariners, Wong finally broke through.
The 22-year-old second baseman snapped a 0-16 drought to record his first hit at home. Wong managed to pick up that hit as a pinch hitter. Wong became one of Cardinals' most highly regarded prospects, after hitting .301 through 3 seasons in the minor leagues.
"I knew it was going to happen, "said Wong.”It was just a matter of time."
