PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (BaseballStL) - How will losing 40 pounds in the offseason affect Cardinals starter Lance Lynn? We'll get our first look Wednesday afternoon against the Mets.

Lynn will make his first start of the spring on the road at Tradition Field and is expected to go two innings or about 40 pitches against a Mets lineup that includes third baseman David Wright.

The Cardinals will counter with nearly all their regulars in the starting lineup. Only Allen Craig and Rafael Furcal are projected to be in the Opening Day lineup and won't play Wednesday. Jon Jay, Carlos Beltran, Matt Holliday, David Freese and Yadier Molina are all back in the lineup after not making Tuesday's cross-state trip to play the Red Sox in Fort Myers.

Prospect Michael Wacha will pitch after Lynn. Wacha was impressive during a two-inning appearance in the spring opener on Saturday.
