ST. LOUIS—Former St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa was in downtown St. Louis Monday to sign copies of his recently-released memoir.
The book signing downtown was at Left Bank Books from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The store is located at 321 North 10th Street.
He was scheduled to sign there again from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The three-time World Series winner’s memoir is titled “One Last Strike: Fifty Years in Baseball, Ten and a Half Games Back and One Final Championship Season.” That subtitle is a reference to the Cardinals’ surprising 2011 championship after an otherwise middling regular season.
La Russa is Major League Baseball’s third-winningest manager of all time, behind only Connie Mack and John McGraw. He also won World Series titles with the Oakland A’s in 1989 and St. Louis in 2006.
