(BaseballStL) – Following a do-or-die Wild Card win and a divisional series that went the distance, the Cardinals know how important it was to nail down the Game 1 NLCS win on the road.

With the win and three games at home this week the Cardinals now have home field advantage.

“You are going to have to win on the road if you want to move on. Today was definitely a good step but we are going to continue with our motto of taking it one game at a time, tomorrow is another day we have to win tomorrow,” said Allen Craig.

Even the rookies are on board with the company line.

“As a team we are very confident right now, “says relief pitcher Trevor Rosenthal.

“It’s been a fun ride so far but we still have a lot of work to do. Every game is big right now home or on the road and we are just looking to give it everything we have got.”
