(BaseballStL) – An ankle injury is keeping Allen Craig out of the lineup as the Red Sox roll into St. Louis for a three-game series starting this evening.

Reports out of Boston indicate Craig is being placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Craig reportedly hurt his ankle while trying to run out a double play in his first game after being traded by the Cardinals to Boston.

The injury is to the same ankle that Craig injured last season with the Cardinals.

Craig and right handed pitcher Joe Kelly were traded to Boston in a trade-deadline deal last Thursday that brought pitcher John Lackey to the Cards.

Kelly will start his first game as a Red Sox Wednesday night against the Cardinals.
