(BaseballStL) – A left shoulder injury that has bothered Kolten Wong since the beginning of June has forced the Cardinals to place the second baseman on the 15-day disabled list, calling up outfielder Shane Robinson from Memphis.

Throughout June, Wong has just four hits – one being a grand slam – in 39 at-bats for a pitiful .103 average. He jammed his shoulder on June 3 on a play in the hole against the Kansas City Royals.

With both Mark Ellis and Daniel Descalso able to play second, the Redbirds were able to call up an outfielder as they have just four total on the active roster to make room for 13 pitchers.

In his last stint in St. Louis, Robinson hit .231 with a double and two RBI.
