(BaseballStL) -- Infielder Kolten Wong and pitcher Kevin Siegrist were named the Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Month in the St. Louis Cardinals organization for the month of May.

Wong batted .375 (39-for-104) with four home runs and eight RBI during the month at Triple-A Memphis. The stellar month was highlighted by a 15-game hit streak put together by Wong, which was snapped on May 27.

The 22-year-old second baseman leads the Redbirds with a .327 batting average, 69 hits and five triples this season. Wong was drafted No. 22 overall by the Cardinals in 2011.

Siegrist received his honor after splitting time between Double-A Springfield and Memphis. He did not allow an earned run in nine relief appearances made in May. The left-hander allowed only four hits and surrendered six walks while striking out 21 over 13.2 innings. Left-handed batters are 3-for-29 with 19 strikeouts against Siegrist.

The Cardinals selected the 23-year-old pitcher in the 41st round of the 2008 draft.
