ST. LOUIS (BaseballStL) – Adam Wainwright will look to stay in the win column when he takes the mound in the series opener against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday.
In a win at Houston, Wainwright allowed three runs on seven hits in 5.2 innings pitched despite not surrendering a hit until the fifth inning. He is also in search of his first quality start in June.
For the month, Wainwright is 1-1 and has allowed ten runs on 13 hits in 12 innings pitched. He has pitched only one inning against the White Sox in his career.
Wainwright will be opposed by Jose Quintana, who has been the White Sox’s fill-in for the injured John Danks.
Quintana is 1-1 while allowing five runs in 15.2 innings in three games as a starter this season.
The game is scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m.
