(BaseballStL) -- Adam Wainwright is throwing again with "no holds barred," nearly a year after elbow surgery sidelined him for the 2011 season.
"It was a year-long, maybe 10-month-long struggle, kind of a rollercoaster ride," he said. "But I think everything went exactly according to plan."
Wainwright said he is excited to be back on the mound, and has set his sights on a World Series repeat.
