ORLANDO, Fla. - A steady rain stopped, the tarp was removed and the Cardinals began playing against the Atlanta Braves at Champion Field at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

And for the first time this spring, the Cardinals will send their pitcher to the plate. The designated hitter will not be used Tuesday for the first time, meaning starting pitcher Jake Westbrook will hit ninth and get his first at-bats of the spring.
