The Cardinals are in Jupiter, Florida for spring training. Our own Brian Feldman is in the middle of all the action. Brian will provide constant updates, so check back through the day for the very latest news.

Feb. 23, 11:54 a.m. - Pujols says it's hard to replace someone who won 20 games. Others will have to step up...like Garcia did last year.

Feb. 23, 11: 53 a.m. - Pujols reacts as well. He says it is disappointing because of how much of a competitor he is. They will just have to go with the guys they have.

Feb. 23, 11:47 a.m. - McClellan says if they want him to be a starter then he's more than ready to do that. He's been that way every year he's been here.

Feb. 23, 11:45 a.m. - McClellan talks about Wainwright too. Says losing him is not just about how good he is on the field but also what he means in the clubhouse.

Feb. 23, 11: 43 a.m. - Garcia says it was one year before he was healthy after Tommy John...but kept feeling better and better as time went on. Took 2 years before he was truly at 100% health.

Feb. 23, 11:42 a.m. - Garcia says things happen for a reason. It was the best thing to ever happen to him to have Tommy John surgery. If it is needed for Wainwright then it could be the same thing.

Feb. 23, 11:40 a.m. - Garcia reacts to the Wainwright news as well. He says it's tough to hear the news. Still hopeful its not the worst case scenario.

Feb. 23, 11:39 a.m. - Lohse knows how horrible it feels to be out with injury. Says it's a helpless feeling. Someone, though he has no idea who, will get an opportunity.

Feb. 23, 11:37 a.m. - Kyle Lohse reacts to Wainwright. He says they have to keep going. Can't do anything about it now. No one will feel sorry for the Cardinals.

Feb. 23, 11:21 a.m. - Still waiting on an update on Wainwright and his evaluation in St. Louis. Probably won't be for a few hours.

Feb. 23, 9:17 a.m. - Tony: The answer is here (meaning they won't go outside the organization)

Feb. 23, 9:12 a.m. - Tyler Greene will get more opportunities in the infield to seize a spot there. Won't take as many fly balls because of the need. Tony says he doesn't worry about Greene in the OF.

Feb. 23, 9:11 a.m. - Finally getting a chance to update on Nick Punto. Out 8-12 weeks with a sports hernia reportedly. Tony says he will be back at full strength after that.

Feb. 23, 9:09 a.m. - Apparently Wainwright had an issue in 1998 and again in 2004 and now again.

Feb. 23, 9:08 a.m. - Tony does not want to speculate on who will take this spot. Says it probably will come down to someone in house. Not outside the organization.

Feb. 23, 9:01 a.m. - Tony says after the bullpen session Monday Wainwright got stiff lateron in the day and then more stiff. Called the trainer and had it checked. Doesn't look good.

Feb. 23, 8:48 a.m. - No option is off the table as far as replacing Wainwright in the rotation. One could be moving Kyle McClellan there and then putting Fernando Salas in the 'pen.

Feb. 23, 8:42 a.m. - Just to repeat. We are waiting for another report on what Adam Wainwright's evaluation will say. The mood is not good though. Not good at all.
Feb. 23, 8:26 a.m. - You can make an argument that this is the worst possible news the organization could face. With the way the team is set up pitching first...it might be worse than losing Albert. Awful news.
Feb. 23, 8:23 a.m. - Right now Mozeliak does not want to think about finding someone to replace him. Wants to wait u til the full evaluation takes place today in St. Louis. Another announcement will happen today once they know more.
Feb. 23, 8:17 a.m. - Mozeliak does not want to speculate but says it is not encouraging right now. This has been an issue for Wainwright since 2004 and didn't recur until last year. Felt something on his third to last pitch of a bullpen session a couple days ago.
Feb. 23, 8:15 a.m. - Breaking news. Adam Wainwright going back to St. Louis for evaluation. Does not look good. Ligament damage is possible. Mozeliak thinks it could be a significant injury.
Feb. 23, 8:06 a.m. - Batista also told me you never know how good a team will be in a season. Its hard to live up to expectations and even harder to exceed them. Especially when you're thought of as one of the best.
Feb. 23, 8:05 a.m. - Batista says its weird being a Cardinal because he's been their rival trying to beat them for so many years. But can't wait to play for Tony.
Feb. 23, 8:03 a.m. - Garcia also told me this spring is much different for him because he knows how everything works, is comfortable around the guys and just gets the way a baseball season goes.
Feb. 23, 8:01 a.m. - Garcia says he plans on going about this season the exact same way as last year. Does not want to be comfortable. Says they have 5 top of the rotation starters on the team.
Feb. 23, 7:58 a.m. - Taped 1-on-1 interviews with Jaime Garcia and Miguel Batista. Notes...
Feb. 23, 7:57 a.m. - Schedule is up. Jake Westbrook, Trever Miller, Jason Motte and Lance Lynn on the docket for live BP today.
