ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- Two things lead me to believe the Cardinals may be the current favorites to win the World Series.

First, the re-emergence of Carlos Beltran as a power hitter. The Cards’ regular season MVP showed signs of wear and tear in August and September. But he looks locked in right now and has always been a great postseason performer. When he is driving the ball over the wall and up the alleys the Cardinals are difficult to beat.

And the bullpen is great for the second straight postseason. It kept the Cardinals in game five of the NLDS against the Nationals by allowing just one run in the final six innings. It also bailed the team out Sunday night against the Giants after Lance Lynn almost coughed up a 6-0 lead.
