(BaseballStL)-- News 4 Sports Reporter Jeff Abeln is down in Jupiter, Florida covering all the bases with the St. Louis Cardinals Spring Training. Check back for more quick updates from the field throughout training.

March 1st, 9:33 a.m. -- The Cardinals just sent out a release saying they will hold a press conference at 2:00 pm to make an announcement regarding Yadier Molina.  It most likely has to do with his future with the club.  Molina has won four consecutive Gold Glove Awards.  Last season he hit over .300, with 65 RBI and 14 home runs.

March 1st, 8:37 a.m. -- I just spoke with Chris Carpenter. We are scheduled to sit down after today's workout.  He will throw a bullpen session at 10:15 am.

They'll be plenty to talk about with the 2005 Cy Young Award winner.  My first question will be regarding last year's championship season.  Even though he won a Cy Young,  was last year's charge to their world championship the pinnacle of his career?

I also want to get his thoughts on how he thinks he's perceived by other players and people in baseball?  He is extremely passionate and emotional on the mound, sometimes offending the opposition, does that bother him if his colleagues don't like him?

Other news, Jake Westbrook will throw LIVE batting practice today along with Lance Lynn.  Adam Wainwright, Jason Motte, and Marc Zepczynski will throw a bullpen session as well.
