(BaseballSTL) -- The Cardinals have had no luck hitting Pittsburgh’s Game 3 starter Francisco Liriano this season. They’re oh and 3 against the Pirates.
Not many other teams have done much against him either. Liriano went 8 and 1 with a 1.47 ERA at PNC Park this year.
While opposing hitters haven’t bothered him much, a flu bug has. Liriano admitted on Saturday that he hasn’t felt well the past few days.
“Yes, I’m still kind of sick,” Liriano said a news conference today. “Doesn’t bother me too much today, so I should be OK.”
Doesn’t sound like he’ll be calling in sick on Saturday, but he also might not be feeling 100% healthy.
Based on how he’s dominated the Cardinals so far this season, the Redbirds may need every break they can get.
