ST. LOUIS (BaseballStL) -- St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina played in his 1,000th career game on Tuesday night.

Molina, who leads the team with a .329 average, has won four-straight Rawlings Gold Gloves and has been to three-straight All-Star games.  He has also been credited with much of the success of leading two teams to World Series Championships with his defense and his ability to manage pitchers.

The 29-year-old has hit .277 with 63 home runs and 422 RBIs in nine seasons with the Cardinals.
