(BaseballStL) -- Mired in a six-game losing skid, the St. Louis Cardinals will be without All-Star catcher Yadier Molina and outfielder Shane Robinson for at least two weeks.

The team placed the pair on the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday following a doubleheader sweep by the Pittsburgh Pirates the day before.

Molina exited the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader after the third inning with a right knee sprain. He returned to St. Louis for an MRI. Shane Robinson, who suffered a right shoulder strain, only saw action as a pinch hitter in Game 1 on Tuesday.

As a result, the Cardinals have recalled Adron Chambers and Brock Peterson, who made his major league debut earlier in July, from Triple-A Memphis.

Chambers, who has appeared in 59 games for St. Louis over the past two seasons, raised his July batting average to .354 after a four-hit game for Triple-A Memphis last night. The 26-year-old left-handed hitter is hitting .252 overall this season with eight home runs and 42 RBI.

Ten days after making his major league debut, Peterson gets the nod back to the big league club after clubbing his Pacific Coast League-leading 23rd home run last night. He was batting .305 with 67 RBI in 96 games played for Memphis.

The Cardinals will be looking for an offensive boost from the duo after batting .155 (30-for-193) and scoring six runs through the first six games of the current road trip.
