(BaseballStL) -- Mike Matheny said Tuesday morning that Lance Lynn has developed some soreness in his hamstring.

Lynn is scheduled to throw a bullpen session, but may decide to skip it.  Matheny has told the players, especially the younger guys, not to try to make the team in the first few days of camp.  He doesn't want anybody over-extending themselves right now to try and impress coaches and get hurt with six more weeks of spring training still to go.

Today's inspiration quote of the day from Matheny, printed on the bottom of the workout schedule, is from Aristotle: "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."

Former Cardinals team president Mark Lamping visited the camp on Tuesday.  Lamping recently accepted a job as president of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He's in the process of moving to Florida for his first job with an NFL team.
