SAN DIEGO (BaseballStL) – Pete Kozma is starting to make the most of his time at the big league level filling in for the injured Rafael Furcal.

Kozma tripled to deep left field to score the Cardinals first two runs of the game in the second inning.  It was all sorts of firsts for Kozma: first triple, first run batted in this season, first multi-RBI game.

Last season, Kozma hit his first career RBI in his first career at-bat on May 18, 2011.  He had gone 23 at-bats without an RBI.
