(BaseballStL) -- The St. Louis Cardinals did the ‘lineup shuffle’ for the series finale against the Miami Marlins on Sunday.
Three of the regular starters, including Matt Holliday, Yadier Molina and Pete Kozma, were out of the starting lineup against Marlins starter Ricky Nolasco. Holliday is 11-for-24 with two home runs in his career against Nolasco. Molina is 3-for-11.
Matt Adams made his 15th start at first base and Tony Cruz started his sixth game behind the plate this season. Allen Craig shifted to play left field for the sixth time in 2013 and Daniel Descalso started at shortstop.
Other changes included: Jon Jay batted second in the lineup for the sixth time this season and David Freese batted in the fifth slot for the second time.
Holliday and Molina entered the game as pinch-hitters in the ninth inning. Molina walked to load the bases with two outs before Holliday struck out looking to end the game.
