ST. LOUIS (BaseballStL) – You win as a team and you lose as a team, but Adam Wainwright has to be getting frustrated after shoddy defense and a sputtering offense doom the right-hander’s chances for a win on Tuesday night.

Wainwright was failed by the defense in the second inning when the White Sox were able to score two runs following a bobble by David Freese on an easy grounder and a dropped fly ball off the glove of Carlos Beltran.

In addition, the offense continued to sputter behind Wainwright, who has the worst run support of any Cardinals starter this season.  In his last three starts, Wainwright has been given only five runs of support.  Wainwright has received only 4.3 runs of support in his previous 12 starts this season.
