Friday lineup vs. Astros: Taveras gets another start

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - A day after hitting a grand slam to help the Cardinals win their fourth straight game, slugging outfield prospect Oscar Taveras is back in the lineup for Friday’s road game against the Houston Astros.

Taveras will serve as the designated hitter and bat second against the former National league Central squad. The Astros start their first year as members of the American League West in 2013.

Joe Kelly will make his first start of the spring. He’s competing with Trevor Rosenthal and Shelby Miller for the fifth spot in the Cardinals rotation.

Former Cardinals Rick Ankiel and Tyler Greene are in the starting lineup for Houston, as is former Cardinals first round pick Brett Wallace.
