ST. LOUIS (BaseballStL) – Despite a six-game hit streak, David Freese was not in the Cardinals’ starting lineup for Monday’s game – and for good reason.
Not only is Freese 0-for-6 against Monday’s starter Chad Billingsley, he is 0-for-6 with six strikeouts.
Freese is currently batting .556 (10-for-18) in the last six games and has posted a .429 batting average with an NL-high eleven walks since the All-Star break.
Since June 9, the All-Star third baseman has raised his batting average 44 points from .261 to .305. He is 46-for-122 (.377) during that stretch.
