(BaseballStL) -- Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez was slated to bat third in Game 2, but was a late scratch for Los Angeles due to bruised ribs suffered when he was struck by a pitch in Game 1.
Ramirez, who went 0-for-2 with three walks including two intentional in Game 1, was struck by a 95-mph fastball in the ribcage during his first at-bat against Joe Kelly in the first inning Friday. He is batting .444 (8-for-18) with a home run and six RBI in five games this postseason.
Former Cardinal infielder Nick Punto replaced Ramirez in the field.
Also in the Dodgers lineup was former Cardinal utility man Skip Schumaker who started in center field and batted sixth. Schumaker started in place of Andre Ethier.
