SAN FRANCISCO (BaseballStL) – The Cardinals have a knack for playing their best when their backs are against the wall, but Game 7 against the Giants was different.
The 9-0 loss to the Giants on Monday marked only the fifth loss in its last 16 Game 7s played, and now included a 3-2 mark in NLCS Game 7s. The last time the Cardinals were victorious in an NLCS Game 7 was against the Mets in 2006.
The Cardinals were hurt by an ineffective start from Kyle Lohse and lack of offense that couldn’t capitalize early with runners in scoring position.
