(KMOV) – The St. Louis Cardinals recalled infielder Jermaine Curtis from Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday, filling the void left when the team sent down pitcher Mitchael Blazek following Sunday’s game.
Curtis, 26, had been batting .259 in 305 at-bats for the Red Birds, hitting four homers to go along with 42 RBIs.
He appeared in three games for the Cardinals earlier this season, going 0-2.
The right-handed hitter was drafted by the Cardinals in the 5th round of the 2008 MLB first-year player draft.
Curtis was an all-star for the AA Springfield Cardinals in 2012, leading the Texas League with an on-base percentage of .416.
