ST. LOUIS (AP) — Alexander Steen netted two goals as the St. Louis Blues routed the Colorado Avalanche 7-3 last night. Derek Roy, David Backes, Vladimir Tarasenko, Chris Stewart and Jay Bouwmeester also scored for the Blues. T.J. Oshie added four assists.

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Fred VanVleet had a career-high 18 points last night as No. 16 Wichita State topped William & Mary 79-62. Cleanthony Early added 14 points and Ron Baker had 13 for the Shockers. They have won 20 straight non-conference games at home by an average of 22 points.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Wide receiver Kyle Williams says he hopes to be able to contribute to the Kansas City Chiefs in Denver this weekend. Williams was claimed off waivers from San Francisco on Tuesday. Williams says he's willing to help out where the Chiefs need him.

TIPTON, Mo. (AP) — A Missouri high school player has died after being hospitalized with a brain injury since a playoff game last month. Tipton School District Superintendent Scott Jarvis says 17-year-old Chad Stover died yesterday at a hospital in Columbia. Stover had been hospitalized since October 31st.
