ST. LOUIS (AP) — The St. Louis Cardinals and L.A. Dodgers are back at it this afternoon for Game 2 of the NL Championship series following the Cardinals' 3-2 victory in 13 innings last night. The Dodgers are going with their ace, 16-game winner Clayton Kershaw, against the Cards impressive rookie hurler Michael Wacha (WAH'-kuh), who has allowed just one run and eight hits in his last 16 innings.

BOSTON (AP) — The AL Championship Series opens up tonight (8:07 p.m. Eastern) at Fenway Park where the AL East champion Boston Red Sox take on the AL Central champion Detroit Tigers. It's Jon Lester for the Red Sox and Anibal Sanchez for the Tigers, who eliminated Oakland in a decisive Game 5 Thursday night.

SEATTLE (AP) — The high-scoring Oregon Ducks, the second-ranked team in the AP Top 25 football rankings, hit the road today in a major Pac-12 test. The 5-0 Ducks are at 16th-ranked Washington, which is coming off a narrow loss to undefeated Stanford last Saturday and comes in at 4-1.

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — In another game matching Top-25 teams, seventh-ranked Georgia hosts 25th-ranked Missouri in a noon (Eastern) kickoff in an SEC game. The 'Dawgs are 4-1 overall and sport a 3-0 mark in the SEC while the Tigers are 5-0 and 1-0 in their first season in the SEC.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — The 10th-ranked LSU Tigers are hosting 17th-ranked Florida in the other game today (3:30 Eastern kickoff) involving teams ranked in the AP Top 25. These old SEC rivals have split their last 10 meetings.
