ST. LOUIS (AP) — Allen Craig made a game-ending leaping catch at the left field wall as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the San Diego Padres 3-2 yesterday. The St. Louis defense turned three double plays behind Adam Wainwright. The Cardinals have taken two of three in both series against the Padres this season.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Miguel Cabrera and Andy Dirks homered as the Detroit Tigers beat the Kansas City Royals 4-1 yesterday. Doug Fister picked up the victory with six strong innings. He allowed six hits, struck out five and walked one. James Shields took the loss.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) — Jamie Lovemark won the Midwest Classic yesterday for his second Web.com Tour title. He holed a 15-foot par putt on the final hole for a 5-under 66 and a one-stroke victory. The 25-year-old finished at 18-under 266 at Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate and earned $108,000 to jump from 76th to 14th on the money list.

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Glory Johnson had 24 points and Liz Cambage added 23 points to lead the Tulsa Shock to a 90-63 victory over the Atlanta Dream yesterday. The victory extended Tulsa's winning streak to a season-high three games. Atlanta lost its fourth straight game after having won six in a row.
