UNDATED (AP) — The Houston Rockets are the big winners in the Dwight Howard derby. A person with knowledge of the deal says the Rockets have been informed that Howard will sign with them after one lackluster season with the L.A. Lakers.

NEW YORK (AP) — Vernon Wells singled in the winning run with one out in the ninth inning, helping the New York Yankees beat the Baltimore Orioles 3-2 last night. That's the Yanks' fifth straight victory, tying their longest win streak of the season.

LONDON (AP)— Today's women's final at Wimbledon will be the second during the 45-year Open era featuring two women who have never won a Grand Slam final. Sabine Lisicki of Germany, who knocked off top-seed Serena Williams en route to today's final, will meet 15th-seed Marion Bartoli of France.

BOSTON (AP)— The Boston Bruins signed high-scoring forward Jarome Iginla (juh-ROHM' ih-GIHN'-luh) to a one-year deal. The 36-year-old entered this past season having scored at least 30 goals 11 straight times. He registered 14 goals and 33 points in 44 games between Calgary and Pittsburgh this year.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Kyle Busch and Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Matt Kenseth swept the front row for Saturday night's race at Daytona International Speedway. Kenseth is coming off a win in Kentucky last week that gave him a series leading fourth victory.
